Miss Emma Dove

Dance Instructor and Office Administrator in Newmarket / Aurora

Emma Dove started dancing at the age of four and has trained extensively over the years in ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop, musical theatre, lyrical and contemporary. She has been trained in both RAD and Vaganova ballet and has completed up to the pre-elementary level in exams. As a competitive dancer, Emma received multiple scholarships and overall awards specializing in hip hop and contemporary. These experiences developed Emma’s passion for movement and discipline which she is excited to pass along to her students as they develop their abilities.

Emma has had the privilege of teaching dance for ten years, creating award-winning choreography competing in both the dance studio competition circuit and the university competition circuit. She began her professional career early on, dancing back up as well as choreographing for the George St Kitts band during the promotional portion of their residence in Richmond Hill while still in high school. In 2019 Emma pursued a Honours Bachelor of Arts in criminology at the University of Guelph, where she dove into the university hip hop scene, competing with and choreographing for the university’s competitive hip hop crew, Atcha Crew. In her third and fourth year she was invited to extend her role and act as vice president, and then co-director. As co-director Emma assisted in the organization of NOVA dance showcase in Hamilton, an annual performance bringing together the university hip hop community and raising money for teams. Throughout her career Emma has taught multiple pop up classes including sessions at the community arts centre in Guelph and a freshman session at Studio North Toronto.

Currently, Emma manages both CDA’s competitive team and office relations, and is also our in-house guest teacher! She continues her dance education, taking classes in her free time in a variety of disciplines including contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, jazz, and heels training.
